Serbia is one of the top 20 European ecosystems in terms of technological talent

The Global Startup Ecosystem 2023 Global Report by Startup Genome and the Global Entrepreneurship Network was released today at The Next Web conference in Amsterdam. The research, which is based on data from 3.5 million companies in more than 290 global ecosystems, delivers new insights and insights into startup ecosystem trends worldwide, while experts, leaders, and local key players contribute to the data's quality.

According to the observed research, Belgrade and Novi Sad stood out in the world report on startups with about 60% rise in the value of the ecosystem, and the following stand out in this year's report:

Belgrade and Novi Sad generated an ecosystem value of $1,116,736,155 between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2022, a 75.41% increase over the preceding period. The economic impact of the ecosystem is calculated as the value of the exit and valuation of the startup.
We are ranked among the top 20 European ecosystems for available talent in a criterion that measures the employability of tech people.
Gaming, blockchain, and the fields of medtech, biotech, and healthtech are the most prominent areas due to the amount of talent, resources, support, and startup activity.
The availability of technological expertise, tax advantages, and international connectivity are listed as reasons for startup operations to relocate to Belgrade and Novi Sad.
The entire value of the exit from 2018 to 2022 is 647 million dollars.
Serbia has around 45,000 highly qualified IT specialists.

Inflation, AI regulation, talent acquisition, worldwide VC financing, and a variety of industry sub-sector studies are among the key issues covered in this year's Startup Genome report. The report also ranks the top 30 worldwide ecosystems as well as the top 10 runners-up, as well as the top 100 emerging ecosystems.

The global study was prepared in collaboration with the organisations Global Entrepreneurship Network, Dealroom, and Crunchbase, and was presented by Startup Genome, the Digital Serbia Initiative, and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation.
