The delegation of the Republic of Serbia actively participated in the 55th World Economic Forum, held in Davos from January 20 to 24. The first meeting of the Working Group for drafting the Regulation on the management and protection of genetic and biomedical data in Serbia was held at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology, and Metallurgy.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for the period 2025–2030.

At a ceremonial session of the Working Group for Open Science in Serbia (TONUS), held at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, the Open Science Platform 2.0 was officially adopted. This milestone marks a significant step towards enhancing scientific collaboration, improving the accessibility of scientific outcomes, and promoting the principles of open science in Serbia.

The Belgrade Ministerial Declaration on Artificial Intelligence has been officially adopted by 44 member states of the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) and the European Union.

On December 20, 2024, the first meeting of the Working Group of the Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China was held online, connecting representatives from Belgrade and Beijing.

The inaugural Serbia-Switzerland Innovation Forum was officially opened at the Palace of Serbia by the Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Dr. Jelena Begović. The event was attended by Dr. Jelena Janković, Assistant Minister of Health of the Republic of Serbia; H.E. Jacques Ducrest, Head of International Relations at the Swiss State Secretariat for Education; and H.E. Anne Lugon-Moulin, Ambassador of Switzerland to Serbia.

A Memorandum of Cooperation between VentureLAB and Science and Technology Parks from Serbia was signed at the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Dr. Jelena Begović, and the Canadian Ambassador to Serbia, Michelle Cameron. The agreement was signed by Gordana Danilović, Director of the Science and Technology Park Belgrade; Milan Randđelović, Director of the Science and Technology Park Niš; Darko Vasilić, Director of the Science and Technology Park Čačak; and Srđan Kolaković, Director of the Science and Technology Park Novi Sad.

The Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit has officially commenced at the Palace of Serbia, bringing together over 130 delegates and 1,000 experts from around the globe.

The Second Italy-Serbia Science Forum was officially inaugurated at the AREA Science Park in Trieste, bringing together scientific minds from both nations to foster collaboration and progress. The opening ceremony featured addresses by Serbia’s Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Dr. Jelena Begović, and Italy’s Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini.

The General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE) in Paris has unanimously approved the Dossier for the Recognition of the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade. This milestone concludes the preparation and verification process, during which all aspects of the project were officially reviewed and endorsed by the international community.
