Open Science Platform 2.0 Adopted in Serbia

Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Dr. Jelena Begović, commended TONUS for its remarkable achievement in finalizing the updated platform within just 10 months and for already envisioning the next phase, Platform 3.0.

“The Open Science Platform in Serbia 2.0 is a more advanced and comprehensive solution that will significantly elevate the quality of scientific outcomes in our country while increasing the global visibility of Serbian science. Open science embodies what science should be: accessible, transparent, and dedicated to societal progress,” stated Minister Dr. Begović.

Key Goals of Open Science Platform 2.0

The platform is structured around five strategic goals aimed at fostering transparency, accessibility, and innovation in Serbian science:

1. Open Access to Scientific Literature: Ensuring free and unrestricted access to published research.
2. Availability of Research Data: Promoting the sharing and accessibility of research data.
3. Open and Transparent Access to Research Infrastructures: Enabling shared use of scientific facilities and tools.
4. Transparency of Scientific Communication and Methodology: Providing open access to software source code, project documentation, research hardware, and other digital objects critical to the sustainability, transparency, and reproducibility of research.
