Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between VentureLAB and Serbia's Science and Technology Parks

A Memorandum of Cooperation between VentureLAB and Science and Technology Parks from Serbia was signed at the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Dr. Jelena Begović, and the Canadian Ambassador to Serbia, Michelle Cameron. The agreement was signed by Gordana Danilović, Director of the Science and Technology Park Belgrade; Milan Randđelović, Director of the Science and Technology Park Niš; Darko Vasilić, Director of the Science and Technology Park Čačak; and Srđan Kolaković, Director of the Science and Technology Park Novi Sad.

In her opening address, Minister Dr. Begović highlighted Serbia’s growing status as a hub for IT innovation and expressed pride in formalizing cooperation with VentureLAB. “Canada is an excellent partner that can prepare our startups for competitive and advanced markets. We aim to send Serbian startups to Canada while also welcoming Canadian startups to Serbia, fostering mutual learning and growth. This partnership will provide the Serbian startup community with valuable opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange, further strengthening our startup ecosystem,” the Minister stated. She also emphasized that this collaboration presents a valuable opportunity for talent exchange programs and multicultural cooperation that can contribute to global progress.

Canadian Ambassador Michelle Cameron praised Minister Begović for the successful organization of the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence Summit, particularly its focus on inclusiveness and Serbia’s achievements in artificial intelligence and the startup sector. “Today’s signing ceremony marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership between Serbia and Canada, which will span academic, intergovernmental, and business domains,” Ambassador Cameron noted.

VentureLAB, a Canadian organization renowned for nurturing startups and global multinationals, is part of one of Canada’s largest technology communities. The Memorandum of Cooperation aims to establish a robust partnership between Serbian science and technology parks and VentureLAB, focusing on technological development, innovation, and comprehensive support for startups.

This milestone agreement signifies a pivotal step in fostering innovation-driven collaboration between Serbia and Canada, creating new opportunities for technological growth and the exchange of expertise on a global scale.
