In a ceremonial moment, the Serbian delegation was presented with the EXPO flag, a key symbol of hosting one of the world’s most prestigious international events.
Under the theme “Game for Humanity”, the Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade will bring the world together through inspiration, innovation, and collaborative solutions to global challenges. The adoption of the Dossier and the unanimous decision of the BIE General Assembly reaffirm that Serbia is ready to host EXPO 2027.
“The unanimous decision of the International Bureau of Exhibitions marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey. Our goal is to host a Specialized Exhibition that not only sets new records but also fills our citizens with pride. Under the inspiring theme of 'Game for Humanity,' we will celebrate the spirit of cooperation, creativity, and innovation, showcasing the best the world has to offer. By embracing the power of play, we aim to inspire solutions to humanity's challenges and create a memorable experience for generations to come,” said Jelena Begović, Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation.
“EXPO 2027 Belgrade will unite countries around the themes of play, sport, and music, creating new bridges between cultures and continents. It will serve as a dynamic platform for creative exchange, sparking cooperation and innovation that transcend borders. With the adoption of the Dossier for Recognition, Serbia is now officially invited to bring the world together for this extraordinary event, fostering a brighter and more inclusive future where the power of play unites us all,” emphasized Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE.
The EXPO flag will arrive in Serbia next week, where it will be welcomed in Belgrade by the nation’s top officials. EXPO 2027 Belgrade is poised to become a global stage for the exchange of ideas, where Serbia will showcase its potential while hosting millions of visitors from around the world. With strong support from the international community, Serbia embarks on an exciting journey to organize an event that will leave a lasting impact on the global stage.
