Eighth Call for Talented Young Researchers – Doctoral Students Now Open

The Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation has announced the Eighth Call for Talented Young Researchers – Doctoral Students, inviting applications for positions within scientific research organizations. The call is open to first-year doctoral students who enrolled for the first time this academic year, have achieved an average grade of at least 9.00 in their undergraduate and master’s studies, have maintained regular academic progress, and are under 30 years old.

This year’s call introduces several innovations, emphasizing digitalization and increased transparency. All stages of the process are managed through the new electronic platform, "I Choose Science," designed to facilitate seamless participation for research organizations, young researchers, and the Ministry.

Key Features of the "I Choose Science" Platform

Streamlined Applications: Research organizations post available positions for intern researchers on the platform, and candidates can review and apply for multiple positions of interest.
Digital Submission: All necessary documentation is submitted electronically directly on the platform.
Secure Registration: Candidate registration is conducted using a secure digital certificate (Consent ID), ensuring a high level of reliability and security throughout the registration process.
Transparent Evaluation: After the application deadline, research organizations review the submissions, provide preliminary approval for eligible candidates, and forward them to the Ministry for evaluation. The Ministry then compiles a final ranking list of researchers selected for participation.

Enhanced Accessibility and Information

The platform improves transparency by providing candidates with comprehensive information about participating research organizations and available positions. Key updates include the ability for candidates to apply for multiple positions and eligibility for foreign citizens with regulated residency or stay in Serbia. Additionally, research organizations will host information sessions to familiarize candidates with the benefits and opportunities of starting a research career in their institutions.

Through this initiative, the Ministry aims to create new opportunities for talented young researchers while fostering the growth of Serbia’s scientific potential. The streamlined application process and innovative “I Choose Science” platform offer candidates transparency, simplicity, and comprehensive support in pursuing a scientific career. This effort not only enables promising researchers to achieve their full potential but also strengthens Serbia’s domestic research ecosystem, establishing the country as a leader in science and innovation.
