The Council's tasks will also include monitoring the implementation of planned measures and activities, observing the state, needs, and standards of AI development and application in Serbia and globally. The Council will have an advisory role, preparing proposals, recommendations, and standards, providing opinions, and expert explanations on all issues related to the development and application of AI in Serbia.
The Council will define and monitor the implementation of the action plan for carrying out activities in line with the AI Development Strategy in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-2025, including any amendments and drafting a new strategy.
The Council will organize and monitor the preparation of laws and regulations concerning the development and application of AI in Serbia.
The Council will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Igor Peško, advisor to the Prime Minister, with members including Prof. Dr. Miroslav Trajanović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation; Prof. Dr. Vladimir Crnojević, Director of the Biosense Institute, University of Novi Sad; Prof. Dr. Dubravko Ćulibrk, Acting Director of the Research and Development Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia; Prof. Dr. Nenad Filipović, University of Kragujevac; Prof. Dr. Svetlana Jovanović, University of Belgrade; Stefan Bađa, advisor to the President of the National Assembly; Colonel Ivan Pokrajac, Director of the Military Technical Institute; Aleksandar Linc-Đorđević, founder and director of the "Data Science" conference; Predrag Nikolić, Chamber of Commerce of Serbia; Milorad Pavlović, Security Information Agency; Colonel Dr. Dejan Savić, Military Security Agency; Dr. Mihailo Jovanović, General Secretariat of the Government; Dr. Vjekoslav Bobar, Director of the Business System, Elektrodistribucija Srbije d.o.o. Belgrade.
Other experts may participate in the Council's work as needed. The Council can form subgroups for specific issues to fulfill the tasks in point 2 of this decision.
The Council is established for five years from the date this decision takes effect. Members, including the president, do not receive compensation for their work in the Council.
The Cabinet of the Prime Minister will perform the Council's professional and administrative-technical duties. The decision to establish the Council for Artificial Intelligence was signed by Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.
